The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
