Al-A'alaa
The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 who has created and shaped, 2 Who measureth, then guideth; 3 who brings forth green pasture, 4 And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble. 5 We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget, 6 save what God wills; surely He knows what is spoken aloud and what is hidden. 7 and [thus] shall We make easy for thee the path towards [ultimate] ease. 8 Therefore, keep on preaching as long as it is of benefit. 9 Those who have fear of God will benefit 10 But the most hapless will flout it, 11 even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, 12 Wherein he will neither die nor live. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 and mentions the Name of his Lord, and prays. 15 However, (the disbelievers) prefer the worldly life 16 but the Everlasting Life is better, and more enduring. 17 Indeed, this is in the former scriptures, 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
