The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
