The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
