3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
