ART THOU NOT aware of how far they who call God's messages in question have lost sight of the truth? 69 Those who cry lies to the Book and that wherewith We sent Our Messengers -- soon they will know! 70 When shackles will be on their necks and also chains; they will be dragged. 71 In the boiling water, then they will be burned in the Fire. 72 And then they will be asked: "Where now are those [powers] to which you were wont to ascribe divinity 73 "Besides Allah" They will say: "They have vanished from us: Nay, we did not invoke (worship) anything before." Thus Allah leads astray the disbelievers. 74 this is an outcome of your having arrogantly exulted on earth without any [concern for what is] right, and of your having been so full of self-conceit! 75 Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant." 76 So you persevere with patience (in your mission). The promise of God is true. Whether We show you some of the punishment We have promised them, or gather you up in death, they have to come back to Us. 77 And certainly We sent apostles before you: there are some of them that We have mentioned to you and there are others whom We have not mentioned to you, and it was not meet for an apostle that he should bring a sign except with Allah's permission, but when the command of Allah came, judgment was given with truth, and those who treated (it) as a lie were lost. 78
