Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 We saved the believers among them, 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
