No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 a warning to mortal man 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens they will question 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until death approached us". 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 running away from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
