And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, then you will be losers. 34 Does he promise you that when you die and have become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth again? 35 ۞ “How remote, (really) how remote is the promise you are given!” 36 "There is nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! And we are not going to be resurrected! 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 He said, 'In a little they will be remorseful.' 40 Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. 46 They said, "Are we to believe in two human beings like ourselves, while their people are subject to us?" 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them a refuge on a hillside where there was a hollow and a spring. 50
