Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? 3 Yea, turn thy vision [upon it] again and yet again: [and every time] thy vision will fall back upon thee, dazzled and truly defeated. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast into that [hell,] they will hear its breath indrawing as it boils up, 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will reply: "Yea, a warner did indeed come unto us, but we gave him the lie and said, 'Never has God sent down anything [by way of revelation]! You [self-styled warners] are but lost in a great delusion!"' 9 And they will then say: 'If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze' 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 Shall not He who hath created know? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
