▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No, by the moon! 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
