The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
