We sent Noah to his people. He said: "O my people, worship God, for you have no other god but He. Will you not take heed for yourselves?" 23 The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old." 24 (And some said): "He is only a man possessed: wait (and have patience) with him for a time." 25 Submitted Nooh, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 26 then We revealed Our will to him: "Build the Ark under Our watchful eye according to Our instructions. When Our command comes, and waters gush up out of the earth, take on board pairs of every species and members of your household, except for any of them on whom sentence has already been passed -- do not plead with Me for those who have done wrong: they shall be drowned. 27 Then, when thou art seated in the Ark and those with thee, say, "Praise belongs to God, who has delivered us from the people of the evildoers." 28 And say: "My Lord! Make my landing a blessed landing, for You are the Best of those Who can cause people to land in safety." 29 In this [story,] behold, there are messages indeed [for those who think]: for, verily, We always put [man] to a test. 30 Then, after them, We brought forth another generation; 31 and We sent to them a Messenger from themselves, saying: 'Worship Allah, for you have no god except He. Will you not be cautious' 32
