The believing man said, "My people, follow me and I shall show you the right guidance. 38 O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter - that is the home of [permanent] settlement. 39 "Whosoever does an evil deed, will not be requited except the like thereof, and whosoever does a righteous deed, whether male or female and is a true believer (in the Oneness of Allah), such will enter Paradise, where they will be provided therein (with all things in abundance) without limit. 40 ۞ "And O my people, how is it that I summon you to salvation, the while you summon me to the fire? 41 "You invite me to disbelieve in Allah (and in His Oneness), and to join partners in worship with Him; of which I have no knowledge, and I invite you to the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving! 42 What you are calling me to is surely not worth the calling in this world or in the next, because our returning is to God; and because the transgressors will be inmates of Hell. 43 You will remember what I say to you. I commit my affair to God; surely God sees His servants.' 44 So Allah warded off from him the evils which they plotted, while a dreadful doom encompassed Pharaoh's folk, 45 The fire; they shall be brought before it (every) morning and evening and on the day when the hour shall come to pass: Make Firon's people enter the severest chastisement. 46 And when they will quarrel amongst themselves in the fire, those who were weak will say to those who sought greatness, “We were your followers, so will you reduce from us some of the punishment of the fire?” 47 Those who had waxed proud will reply: “All of us are in it. Allah has already passed His judgement among His servants.” 48 And those who are in the fire said to its guards, “Pray to your Lord to decrease the punishment upon us for one day.” 49 They will say: "Did there not come to you your messengers with Clear Signs?" They will say, "Yes". They will reply, "Then pray (as ye like)! But the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile wandering) in (mazes of) error!" 50
