Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion of the Universe, and Who has power over everything; 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 as though it will burst with rage. Every time a multitude is cast into it, its keepers will ask them: “Did no warner come to you?” 8 They will say, "Of course, a warner did come to us, but we belied him and we said, 'God has revealed nothing; you are in gross error.'" 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 So will they confess their guilt. Deprived (of all joys) will be the inmates of Hell. 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
