Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
