Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
