Say: O my Lord! if Thou shouldst make me see what they are threatened with: 93 do not, O my Sustainer, let me be one of those evildoing folk!" 94 Assuredly, We are able to show thee that We promise them. 95 Repel evil by what is best; We know best what they describe. 96 And say "O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the suggestions of the Evil Ones. 97 I even seek Your refuge, my Lord, lest they should approach me." 98 [AS FOR THOSE who will not believe in the life to come, they go on lying to themselves] until, when death approaches any of them, he prays: "O my Sustainer! Let me return, let me return [to life,] 99 so that I might act righteously in whatever I have failed [aforetime]!" Nay, it is indeed but a [meaningless] word that he utters: for behind those [who leave the world] there is a barrier [of death] until the Day when all will be raised from the dead! 100 And then no sooner the Trumpet is blown than there will remain no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask one another. 101 Only those whose scales are heavier in the balance will find happiness. 102 And the ones whose scales prove light it is they who put their lives into ruin, remaining in hell forever. 103 The fire shall scorch their faces, and they will remain dejected in it. 104 [It will be said]. "Were not My verses recited to you and you used to deny them?" 105 They will say: "our Lord! Our misfortune overwhelmed us, and we became a people astray! 106 O our Lord! Take us out of it; then if we return (to evil) surely we shall be unjust. 107 He shall say: slink away there unto, and speak not unto Me. 108 Among My worshipers there were a party who said: "Lord, we believed. Forgive us and have mercy on us: You are the Best of the merciful." 109 But you took them for a laughing-stock, till they made you forget My remembrance, mocking at them. 110 I have rewarded them this Day for their steadfastness, and it is they who have triumphed." 111 He will say: "What number of years did ye stay on earth?" 112 They will say, “We stayed a day or part of a day, so ask those who keep count.” 113 [Whereupon] He will say: "You have spent there but a short while: had you but known [how short it was to be]! 114 Do you think We created you for nothing, and that you will not return to Us?" 115 High Exalted be Allah, the King, the Truth. There is no god except He, the Lord of the Noble Throne. 116 And whosoever calleth, along with Allah, unto god, of whom he hath no warranty, then his reckoning is only with his Lord; verily thrive will not the infidels. 117 And say: O my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones. 118
