And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
