Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never raise anyone (as a Messenger)”; 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
