Remember when Abraham prayed: "O Lord, make this a city of peace, and preserve me and my progeny from worshipping idols: 35 My Lord! surely they have led many men astray; then whoever follows me, he is surely of me, and whoever disobeys me, Thou surely art Forgiving, Merciful: 36 "O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred House (the Ka'bah at Makkah); in order, O our Lord, that they may perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), so fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and (O Allah) provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks. 37 Lord, You have knowledge of all that we hide and all that we reveal: nothing in heaven or on earth is hidden from God. 38 "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has given me in old age Isma'il (Ishmael) and Ishaque (Isaac). Verily! My Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations. 39 “O my Lord! Maintain me as one who establishes prayer, and some of my descendants; O our Lord! and accept my prayer.” 40 Forgive me, Lord, and forgive my parents and all the believers on the Day of Reckoning." 41
