AND WHEN the messengers [of God] came to the house of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79
