۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
