And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
