We did not create this heaven and earth and all that lies between them in vain. That is the fancy of those who denied the Truth. So woe from the Fire to all who deny the Truth. 27 Shall We treat those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the same as those who do mischief on earth? Shall We treat those who guard against evil, the same as those who turn aside from the right? 28 This is a blessed Book which We sent down to you [Muhammad], for people to ponder over its messages, and for those with understanding to take heed. 29 We bestowed Solomon on David who was an excellent devotee, for he turned to God in penitence. 30 [Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses. 31 he said: “Lo! I have come to love this wealth on account of the remembrance of my Lord.” And when the horses disappeared, 32 He said, "Bring them back to me." Then he started to rub their legs and necks. 33 We tested Solomon by (causing death to his son) and leaving his body on Solomon's chair. Then he turned to Us in repentance, 34 He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower." 35 So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed, 36 And made the demons subservient to him, all builders and divers. 37 and others linked together in fetters. 38 "This is Our gift," (We said to him), "so bestow freely or withhold without reckoning." 39 In Our eyes he certainly has a high position and the best place to return. 40
