The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O Ye who believe! Put not yourselves forward before Allah and His Messenger; but fear Allah: for Allah is He Who hears and knows all things. 1 O ye who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak aloud to him in talk, as ye may speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds become vain and ye perceive not. 2 Those that lower their voices in the presence of Allah's Messenger,- their hearts has Allah tested for piety: for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 3 Most of those who call you from behind the private chambers do not have any understanding. 4 for, if they had the patience [to wait] until thou come forth to them [of thine own accord,] it would be for their own good. Still, God is much forgiving, a dispenser of grace. 5 Believers, if an evil-doer brings you news, ascertain the correctness of the report fully, lest you unwittingly harm others, and then regret what you have done, 6 And know that verily among you is the apostle of Allah. Were he to obey you in many affairs, ye would surely be in trouble, but Allah hath endeared belief to you and hath made it fair-seeming in your hearts, and hath rendered detestable unto you infidelity and wickedness and disobedience. These! they are the men of rectitude. 7 A Grace and Favour from Allah; and Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom. 8 And if two parties of the believers quarrel, make peace between them; but if one of them acts wrongfully towards the other, fight that which acts wrongfully until it returns to Allah's command; then if it returns, make peace between them with justice and act equitably; surely Allah loves those who act equitably. 9 Surely the believers are none but brothers unto one another, so set things right between your brothers, and have fear of Allah that you may be shown mercy. 10
