Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And cups put in place 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
