In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Ra. These are verse of the Scripture that maketh plain. 1 We have revealed it as a Recitation in Arabic that you may fully understand. 2 We will relate to thee the fairest of stories in that We have revealed to thee this Koran, though before it thou wast one of the heedless. 3 When Joseph told his father, "My father, I saw eleven stars, and the sun and moon: I saw them prostrate themselves before me," 4 He said: O my son! do not relate your vision to your brothers, lest they devise a plan against you; surely the Shaitan is an open enemy to man. 5 Thus thy Lord will prefer thee and will teach thee the interpretation of events, and will perfect His grace upon thee and upon the family of Jacob as He perfected it upon thy forefathers, Abraham and Isaac. Lo! thy Lord is Knower, Wise. 6

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
