Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
