The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And dense gardens. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
