The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 that hide, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
