The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
