He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and who has fear of God, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted, purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
