The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 He verily will be content. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
