Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 a warning to humankind, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
