He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 you attended to him, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 From him you are distracted. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and olives and palms, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
