And the king said: Surely I see seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured; and seven green ears and (seven) others dry: O chiefs! explain to me my dream, if you can interpret the dream. 43 They said: medleys of dreams! and in the interpretation of dreams we are not skilled. 44 After all that time, the one of the two who had been saved remembered, he said: 'I will interpret it for you, so let me go' 45 Yusuf, O saint! give an answer unto us in regard to seven fat kine which seven lean ones are devouring and seven green corn-ears and seven others dry; haply I may return unto the people; haply they may learn. 46 (Joseph) said: "For seven years shall ye diligently sow as is your wont: and the harvests that ye reap, ye shall leave them in the ear,- except a little, of which ye shall eat. 47 Then there shall come after that seven years of hardship which shall eat away all that you have beforehand laid up in store for them, except a little of what you shall have preserved: 48 This will be followed by a year of rain, and people shall press (the grapes)." 49
