The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
