The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
