The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
