We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
