And Noah, when he cried of old, We heard his prayer and saved him and his household from the great affliction. 76 And We succoured him against the people who belied Our signs; verily they were a people evil, so we drowned them all. 77 And David and Solomon they passed judgment upon the tilled land on which the people's sheep had strayed. We bore witness to their judgment, and 78 And We explained the case to Sulaiman; and to both We gave the kingdom and knowledge; and subjected the hills to proclaim the Purity along with Dawud, and (also subjected) the birds; and these were Our works. 79 And We taught him the fashioning of garments for you, to fortify you against your violence; then are you thankful? 80 And unto Solomon (We subdued) the wind in its raging. It set by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are Aware. 81 And of the evil ones, were some who dived for him, and did other work besides; and it was We Who guarded them. 82 ۞ And Job -- when he called unto his Lord, 'Behold, affliction has visited me, and Thou art the most merciful of the merciful.' 83 So We listened to him: We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his people to him, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who serve Us. 84 (Remember) Ishmael, Edris and Dhu'l-Kifl. They were men of fortitude, 85 We encompassed them in Our mercy; they were righteous people. 86 And remember Zun-nun, when he departed in wrath: He imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the deptHs of darkness, "There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!" 87 So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers. 88 Remember Zachariah, when he called out to his Lord, "Do not leave me heirless Lord, You are the best of heirs." 89 We therefore heard his prayer; and bestowed him Yahya, and cured his wife for him; indeed they used to hasten to perform good deeds, and pray to Us with hope and fear; and used to weep before Us. 90 (Remember) her who preserved her chastity, into whom We breathed a new life from Us, and made her and her son a token for mankind. 91 Indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am Your Lord, therefore worship Me. 92 But they have broken up and differed as regards their religion among themselves. (And) they all shall return to Us. 93
