The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE TRUE BELIEVERS will be successful, 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 who give charity, 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
