The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
