And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the apostles; 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead, 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
