Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book (the Quran). 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, 8 To abide therein. It is a Promise of Allah in truth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 He hath created the heavens that ye behold without pillars, and hath cast into the earth firm mountains lest it move away with you; and He hath scattered thereon every kind of animal. And We send down water from the heaven and We make grow every kind of goodly growth therein. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
