The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
