The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
