S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder... 1 Nay, but the unbelievers are steeped in arrogance and stubborn defiance. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Have they control over heavens and earth and whatever [lies] between them? Then let them climb up to heaven by ropes: 10 [They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers]. 11 Even before them the people of Noah, 'Ad, the mighty Pharoah, 12 and Thamood, and the people of Lot, and the men of the Thicket - those were the parties; 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
