Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
